Welcome to Our Faculty

Faculty of Information Management, UiTM, takes pride in being the pioneer in providing professional education to fulfil the manpower need of the country in three very important fields, namely: Information Management, Library Management, and Records Management. Our academic programmes, supplemented by industry attachments, equip graduates with knowledge and skills to take on the challenging demands of managing information in various forms and in various types of organisations. Our graduates become the main driving force for the development of a knowledge-based society, transforming Malaysia into a developed nation, ensuring that the country’s rich reservoirs of knowledge are systematically organised, maintained and enhanced for optimum value. To achieve this aim, the programmes consist of the blended components from four main areas: Information Technologies, Professional and Technical Aspects of Information and Records Management, Public Relations, and Users’ Needs and Services.

Industrial Linkages - A Visit to Libraries in Johor

Our academic staff from the IM244 programme recently visited three libraries in Johor, mainly, Tun Dr Ismail Library, Universiti Teknologi MARA (Pasir Gudang), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Library (Johor Bahru), and Tunku Tun Aminah Library, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia on 5-7 September 2014. Exploration of Information and Culture in Seoul, Korea

2014 Korea

A program entitled "Exploration of Infor-mation & Culture" in Seoul, South Korea was organised by our students from 13 to 17 April 2014. A total of 22 participants went on this trip, consisting of 17 stu-dents, accompanied by five academic and non-academic staff. One of the objectives of this trip was to expose students to life in Korean universities. Two universities were visited, namely Yonsei University and Ewha Women University. In addition, participants also had the opportunities to experience various Korean traditions, such as Kim-Chi preparation, wearing Hanbok, and eating Korean food. They also visited the National Museum of Korea.
