Faculty of Information Management, UiTM, takes pride in being the pioneer in providing professional education to fulfil the manpower need of the country in three very important fields, namely: Information Management, Library Management, and Records Management. Our academic programmes, supplemented by industry attachments, equip graduates with knowledge and skills to take on the challenging demands of managing information in various forms and in various types of organisations. Our graduates become the main driving force for the development of a knowledge-based society, transforming Malaysia into a developed nation, ensuring that the country’s rich reservoirs of knowledge are systematically organised, maintained and enhanced for optimum value. To achieve this aim, the programmes consist of the blended components from four main areas: Information Technologies, Professional and Technical Aspects of Information and Records Management, Public Relations, and Users’ Needs and Services.

Important Announcement! Calling for Abstracts
The Faculty of Information Management (UiTM), in collaboration and partnerships with the Central Bank of Malaysia (BNM), Islamic Science University of Malaysia (USIM), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), and Tun Abdul Razak Library (PTAR), will be hosting the 7th international WCOMLIS conference, WCOMLIS 2014: World Congress of Muslim Librarians and Information Scientists 2014 on 25-26 February 2014. WCOMLIS is one of the congresses that gather information professionals consisting of librarians, information scientists, information managers, records managers, archivists and all information management related professions from countries all over the world. WCOMLIS acts as a medium that provides opportunity to uplift and enhance the quantity and quality of information resources and services in line with changing times. WCOMLIS would be the best platform for information professionals particularly, in the Islamic world to share their knowledge, experience and visions for the benefit of the universe. Therefore, we are inviting scholars, academicians and professionals to participate in our conference. The main theme of this conference is Information Governance: Trends, Challenges and Future. The following sub-themes provide some focus and scope of the papers for the conference:

We are calling for abstracts of academic papers / case studies / research papers that may discuss any of the topics identified under the scope and theme of the conference. Each abstract should be between 800 to 1000 words. The deadline for the final receipt of abstracts has been extended to 1 August 2013.
Venue of conference will be in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

2013 Carnival
